When I tried the S1, it was quick to map our downstairs, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, plus medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was able to drive close to walls and even across raised thresholds without issue. However it was a bit difficult getting down the stairs in one step. The docking station of the S1 automatically empties its trash bin and fills its onboard water tank with clean, ozonated waters prior to each mopping session. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water for deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can be able to accommodate 12 mopping sessions, however this will differ depending on the frequency you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires periodic maintenance to keep it working well. For this, you'll need to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to avoid it from clogging. You will also need to clean your sensors and swivel wheel regularly to avoid them becoming clogged up with dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
